by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins

ON THE ROAD IN OTTAWA: The Bruins end their stretch of three games in four nights when they visit the Ottawa Senators Saturday night at Scotiabank Place (TV: NESN, RADIO: 98.5 The Sports Hub). Following their game against the Sens, the Bruins are heading into their lightest week for a month with a Saturday game followed by a four-day break before a Thursday contest against New Jersey and an off-day next Friday. They won't face another week like this until they have the same schedule from December 5-11.

THE STAT OF THE WEEK, COURTESY OF THE BOSTON BRUINS WEEK AHEAD STAT MACHINE: With a 4-4-1 record and nine points this season, the Bruins are just two points off of their 2008-09 pace when they had 11 points on a 4-2-3 record through nine games. The team has not gone consecutive games without a point this season. Last year they did not lose consecutive games in regulation until January 3rd (4-2 vs. Buffalo) and 6th (1-0 vs. Minnesota).

Claude Julien, after Thursday night’s game against Philadelphia …
“We played hard enough and well enough to give ourselves a chance to win. Our guys battled hard…we played the typical, tight road game that we need to play, and we faced a good team that was rested. Hopefully, you can look at this as a big point.”
