Their 90.9% (10-for-11) efficiency rate ranks fourth in the league through three games played. Over the course of the previous four seasons, the B's have averaged 84.9% kill rate on the PK, which led all other teams in the Northeast Division (OTT 84.4%, MTL 83.95%, BUF 82.6%, TOR 79.3%). In two of the previous four seasons, the Black & Gold have ranked fourth or higher in in the NHL on the penalty kill (2012-13, 4th in NHL at 87.1% and 2009-10, 3rd in the NHL at 86.4%).

BOSTON MEDIA TWEET OF THE WEEK (TOTW):
Tweet of the Week entered its fifth week with four members of the Bruins media locked in a stalemate with one win apiece. However this week, DJ Bean of WEEI.com will jump to the front of his pack with his tweet regarding how he believes Patrice Bergeron would celebrate if he scored four goals in a game:
@DJ_Bean: I'm gonna ask Bergeron what he'd do if he were to score 4G, knowing full well the answer is build a playground for underprivileged youth
Here are this week’s honorable mentions, in no particular order:
@AmalieBenjamin: Discussion earlier with @DJ_Bean about the fact that the color merlot is in. Carl Soderberg was wearing a merlot sweater. Point proven.
@DJ_Bean: Krejci just got Boychuk in the face with his stick. Three seconds of uncertainty followed by hugging. #Bruins
@TheBruinsBlog: Said I should tweet that this is the Bruins bye week & maybe I'd win “@DJ_Bean: Claude just mentioned Tweet of the Week. #twitterverse”
@HackswithHaggs: Appreciate a good "Carl, Good to See You!" ref to Billy Madison from Shawn Thornton whenever he sees Soderberg walking thru Bs dressing room

OFF THE ICE…
PATRICE’S PALS: As a part of his continuing charitable initiative Patrice’s Pals, Bruins alternate captain Patrice Bergeron invites children from local hospitals and other organizations to experience a Bruins home game from his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia, a visit from the Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls, as well as a feature on the Garden HDX. After the game, Patrice’s Pals are escorted to ice level and introduced to Patrice himself who signs autographs and takes pictures with his Pals. This will take place at all Boston Bruins home games during the 2013-14 season.
SAVVY’S SUITE: Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard has partnered with the Brain Injury Center at Children’s Hospital Boston, inviting children who suffer from the effects of Brain Trauma, both physically and psychologically, to attend a Bruins home game in his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags with Bruins memorabilia and a visit from Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls. Savard started the program on Thursday, January 12, 2012, and it will continue through the end of the 2013-14 Bruins season.
COMMUNITY TICKET PROGRAM: For the entirety of the Boston Bruins 2013-14 regular season, Bruins Principal and Alternate Governor Charlie Jacobs is donating ten balcony tickets to every home game to children from charitable organizations across New England, who are invited to enjoy a Bruins home game from these donated seats.
BRAD’S BRIGADE IS BACK: The 2013-14 season marks an exciting new chapter for Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand’s charitable program, “Brad’s Brigade”. Established in 2010, Marchand’s program invites children from pediatric oncology units across New England to experience a Bruins home game. Children and their families sit in the loge section and are featured on the Garden HDX. Each family also receives a Brad’s Brigade T-Shirt, a Garden Gold Card and a goodie bag with Bruins memorabilia.
