BRUINS TO VISIT THE CARROLL CENTER FOR THE BLIND:
On Monday, February 2, Dougie Hamilton and David Pastrnak will visit The Carroll Center for the Blind (770 Centre Street, Newton, MA) to participate in a fencing class with the vision impaired.  Fencing helps the blind develop balance, posture & coordination and also helps to teach them to move forward and back in a straight line which is very important for their ability to get around in life independently.  Following the class, the players will pose for photos and sign autographs. Players are subject to change. For more information, visit the “Around Town” section of the Week Ahead.

B’S TO VISIT THE CARDIAC REHAB PROGRAM AT LAWRENCE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL: On Monday, February 2, Craig Cunningham and Jordan Caron will visit the Cardiac Rehab Program at Hallmark Health System’s Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford (170 Governor’s Avenue, Medford, MA) at 1:00 p.m.  During the visit, the players will participate in some light cardio rehabilitation exercises with patients and will pose for photos and sign autographs. ALEX & ANI GIRLS LOVE HOCKEY CLINIC:
The Boston Bruins and Alex & Ani have randomly selected female youth hockey players from across New England to participate in the Alex & Ani Girls Love Hockey clinic on Monday, February 2 at Steriti Rink (561 Commercial Street, Boston, MA) to celebrate the game of female hockey while adding opportunities for female players.  The girls selected will be run through an hour long clinic hosted by Chris Kelly and members of the Bruins youth hockey development team. EPISODE 9 OF BEHIND THE B TO AIR ON 2/5:
Season two of Behind the B presented by Alex and Ani is set to air its ninth episode on Thursday, February 5 at 8:00 p.m. on NESN and will feature Patrice Bergeron’s trip to his first NHL All-Star Game, which took place in Columbus, OH. FRIDAY’S ROSTER TRANSACTIONS:
Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced January 30, that goaltender Niklas Svedberg will join the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) on a conditioning loan and that the club had recalled goaltender Malcolm Subban from Providence. Svedberg has appeared in 12 games with Boston this season, earning a 5-5-0 record with two shutouts, while posting a 2.22 goals against average and .922 save percentage.  Subban has played in 22 games for Providence this season where the 21-year-old goaltender has posted a 2.47 goals against average and a .921 save percentage, to earn a 9-10-2 record. The recall marked Subban’s first NHL call-up.

B'S ALUMNI OUT IN THE COMMUNITY:
The Third Annual Boston Bruins Alumni vs. the Ritchie Hockey Foundation Winchendon School All Star game will take place on Saturday, February 7 at 5:00 p.m. at the Winchendon School Richie Arena. The game will benefit the Ritchie Hockey Foundation, a non-profit scholarship fund established in honor of Jason Ritchie, who was tragically killed in a car accident in 2009. Bruins alumni expected to participate are legends Ray Bourque, Rick Middleton and Terry O'Reilly.  To purchase tickets contact Patrick Tevlin (ptevlin@winchendon.org) or Kelly Desgroseilliers (kdesgroseilliers@winchendon.org) or by dialing 978-297-7919.

The following day, the Crotched Mountain Foundation will host a Bruins Alumni game vs. the Crotched Mountain Wild on Sunday, February 8 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anselm College, in Goffstown, NH.  Legendary alumni Rick Middleton, Andy Brickley and Bob Beers will be participating in the event. All funds raised will benefit Crotched Mountain Access and Recreation for individuals with disabilities and their families.  For tickets, contact Jeannette Nieder at Jeannette.Nieder@crotchedmountain.org.

BRUINS VS. CANADIENS LUXURY SUITE RAFFLE: The Boston Bruins Foundation is holding a suite raffle (raffle opens on February 2) for the Bruins vs. Canadiens game on Sunday, February 8, where one lucky winner and thirteen guests will get to enjoy the two rivals battle from a private luxury suite at TD Garden. Proceeds will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation. The winner will be drawn at 12:00 p.m. on February 6. As always tickets can be purchased at bruinraffles.org.

SEASON 2 OF BEHIND THE B: Season Two of the Black & Gold’s all-access television series “Behind the B” presented by Alex and Ani has begun, with 13 episodes slated to air during the 2014-15 season. All episodes will again be narrated by actor and Worcester, MA native, Denis Leary.

BOSTON BRUINS FOUNDATION 50/50 RAFFLE:  During each Boston Bruins home game, the Boston Bruins Foundation conducts the 50/50 raffle presented by Health Services Administrators. Fifty percent of the proceeds go towards the beneficiary hosted by the Bruins Foundation that night, while the other fifty percent of the proceeds go to one lucky winner. The 50/50 program comprises one third of the annual fundraising for the Boston Bruins Foundation. After the winning ticket is selected, the number will be announced in-game giving the winner the opportunity to claim their prize at Guest Services on the Loge Level, Section 4 or by checking the numbers posted on the Bruins Foundation Website within 30 days of the winning game, which can be found at the following link: http://bruins.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=101168.

BRUINS ON THE AIRWAVES: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug has been confirmed as a weekly call-in guest with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak (Gresh and Zo), which airs weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while forward Reilly Smith is expected to be regular a guest with 98.5's Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb (Toucher and Rich), which airs weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Bruins President Cam Neely will also be a guest with Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti  (Felger and Mazz) on their show, which airs weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Chris Kelly will be a regular guest on 100.7 WZLX with Kevin Karlson and Pete McKenzie (Karlson & McKenzie), which airs weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  Call-in days and times are dependent upon the B’s schedule.

OFF THE ICE…

PATRICE’S PALS: As a part of his continuing charitable initiative Patrice’s Pals, Bruins alternate captain Patrice Bergeron invites children from local hospitals and other organizations to experience a Bruins home game from his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia, a visit from the Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls, as well as a feature on the Garden HDX. After the game, Patrice’s Pals are escorted to ice level and introduced to Patrice himself who signs autographs and takes pictures with his Pals.

COMMUNITY TICKET PROGRAM: For the entirety of the Boston Bruins 2014-15 regular season, Bruins Chief Executive Officer Charlie Jacobs is donating ten balcony tickets to every home game to children from charitable organizations across New England, who are invited to enjoy a Bruins home game from these donated seats.

BERGERON'S ALL-STAR APPEARANCE: Centerman Patrice Bergeron participated in his first ever NHL All-Star in Columbus on January 25, which saw a record 29 goals scored (Team Toews 17, Team Foligno 12) setting an NHL All-Star game record.  Bergeron set a Bruins franchise All-Star Game record notching five points on one goal and four assists, while also posting a plus-four rating. The only player to record more points than Bergeron in the mid-winter classic was Philadelphia’s Jakub Vorcek (Team Toews), who posted six points (three goals, three assists).

SUBBAN NAMED CCM/AHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
On January 28, the AHL announced that Providence Bruins Goaltender Malcolm Subban was named the CCM/AHL player of the week for the period ending January 25.  During that span, Subban allowed just three goals on 91 shots (0.99 goals against average, .967 save percentage), yielding a 2-1-0 record.

SHARING THE WEIGHT: The Bruins have 10 players with 20-plus points which ties with Chicago as the most in the league ... With Milan Lucic, Reilly Smith and Torey Krug all tallying their 10th goals at NY Islanders on 1/29, the Bruins are now one of five teams with seven players in double-digit goal totals.

DEFENSE HOLDING STRONG: The Bruins have allowed just 15 non-shootout goals over their last 10 games for a 1.47 goals against average in that span ... They have allowed 312 shots in those games for a .952 save percentage
