B’S TO HOST HEART HEALTH NIGHT:
The Boston Bruins will team up with the American Heart Association (AHA) as Tufts Medical Center presents the Boston Bruins Ninth Annual Heart Health Night during their home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, January 13. Both children and adults affected by heart disease will be invited in for the game and will be participating in various fan experiences throughout the evening. Guests will participate in activities such as Zamboni rides, bench assistants and high-five lines. All in-game fundraising, including the sale of mystery autograph pucks and the 50/50 raffle, will benefit the American Heart Association. The NHL is expected to announce the NHL All-Star roster on Saturday, January 10. The Columbus Blue Jackets and city of Columbus will host the 2015 NHL All-Star festivities from January 24 to 25, marking a first for the city and Club. The 2015 NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft will take place on January 23 and will be televised on the NBC Sports Network. The League’s midseason showcase will include the Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition™ on Saturday, January 24 (7:00 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports) and the Honda NHL All-Star Game® on Sunday, January 25 (5:00 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).
PASTRNAK & KHOKHLACHEV NAMED AHL ALL-STARS:
On January 6, the American Hockey League announced that Bruins forwards David Pastrnak and Alexander Khokhachev had been named AHL All-Stars. In 24 games with Providence Pastrnak has notched 10 goals (leads team) and 17 assists (second on the team) for 27 points (leads team). Khokhlachev has recorded seven goals and 18 assists (first on team) for 25 points (second on the team) in 27 games for Providence. The AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino will take place in Utica, NY from January 25-26.UPCOMING OPPONENT PREVIEW:

During each Boston Bruins home game, the Boston Bruins Foundation conducts the 50/50 raffle presented by Health Services Administrators. Fifty percent of the proceeds go towards the beneficiary hosted by the Bruins Foundation that night, while the other fifty percent of the proceeds go to one lucky winner. The 50/50 program comprises of one third of annual fundraising for the Boston Bruins Foundation. As a part of his continuing charitable initiative Patrice’s Pals, Bruins alternate captain Patrice Bergeron invites children from local hospitals and other organizations to experience a Bruins home game from his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia, a visit from the Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls, as well as a feature on the Garden HDX. After the game, Patrice’s Pals are escorted to ice level and introduced to Patrice himself who signs autographs and takes pictures with his Pals.

On Thursday, January 8 vs. the New Jersey Devils, Patrice Bergeron and Chris Kelly appeared in their 700th career NHL games against. Bergeron became the 17th player in team history to appear in 700 games for Boston. New Jersey’s Mike Cammalleri also played in his 700th game on the same evening as Bergeron and Kelly.
POINT STREAK SITS AT SIX:
Entering the weekend, the Bruins have a six game point streak, going 3-0-3 and have won consecutive games for the first time since December 21 vs. the Buffalo Sabres and December 23 vs. the Nashville Predators.
The Bruins have scored power play goals in six of their last nine games (six for 20, 30%). The Bruins are now 18 for 97 on the power play this season (18.6%) and have not yet allowed a shorthanded goal.STEADY SVEDDY:
Niklas Svedberg stopped 14 shots in the B’s 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils on January 8, marking his second career shutout (4-0 win at Buffalo on October 18). Following Thursday’s home game against the New Jersey Devils, the Boston Bruins have sold out 236 straight regular season and playoff games. This sellout streak began more than five years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).
