BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, September 28, that the team has signed forward Jakub Lauko to a three-year, entry-level contract. Lauko will be assigned to Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL).
Lauko has appeared in two preseason games for the Bruins in 2018-19, and is tied for the team lead with two goals, with a plus-one rating.
He spent the past two seasons with Pirati Chomutov in the Czech Extraliga. In 2017-18, he recorded three goals and six assists for nine points in 42 games. He added one goal and two assists for three points in six playoff games. The 6-foot, 179-pound forward played in 28 games in 2016-17, notching two goals. The Praha, Czech Republic native registered 26 goals and 35 assists for 61 points with a plus-28 rating in 24 games for Pirati Under-16 and produced eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points with a plus-seven rating in 29 games with the Under-18 team during the 2015-16 season.

Lauko produced six goals and one assist for seven points in 11 games with the Czech Republic Under-18 team in 2017-18. He totaled three goals and three assists for six points in seven games in the 2018 Under-18 World Junior Championship and added one goal in six games during the 2018 World Junior Championship. In 2016-17, he tallied seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 20 games with the Under-17 team. With the Under-16 team in 2015-16, Lauko produced four goals and four assists for eight points in 14 games.
The 18-year-old forward was selected by Boston in the third round (77th overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
