Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, September 25, that the club has signed defenseman Brandon Carlo to an entry-level contract.
Carlo, 18, has appeared in two preseason games for Boston, recording a goal against the New York Rangers on September 24 at TD Garden.
Carlo played the last two seasons (2013-15) for the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League. He served as Alternate Captain for the Americans during 2014-15 and posted 4-21=25 totals with 90 PIM in 63 games played. In total, the blueliner has appeared in 134 matchups in the WHL, notching seven goals and 31 assists for 38 points with 156 penalty minutes.
The native of Colorado Springs, CO has twice represented the U.S. in international play at the 2015 World Junior Championships (0-1=1 totals in 5 games) and earned a Silver medal at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial.
Prior to Training Camp, Carlo attended Bruins Development Camp and Bruins Rookie Camp.
The 6’5”, 203-pound defenseman was drafted by Boston in the second round (37th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
