BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled forward Lane MacDermid from the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League). MacDermid is expected to join the team for their 11:00 a.m. practice at Ristuccia Arena on Wednesday, April 4 and travel with the team on their road trip to Ottawa.

In Providence this season, the 6’3” 205-pound forward has four goals and 11 assists and 115 penalty minutes in 65 games. Last year, he recorded seven goals, 12 assists and 158 penalty minutes, which ranked third on the P-Bruins.

This marks MacDermid’s second recall to Boston this season. In his first recall to Boston he appeared in five games and recorded five penalty minutes for the team.

MacDermid was originally drafted the Boston Bruins in the fourth round (112th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The 2011-2012 Boston Bruins season is presented by the Massachusetts State Lottery.
