Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, December 16, that the club has recalled Alex Khokhlachev from Providence (American Hockey League). Khokhlachev will join Boston for Wednesday’s morning skate and will be eligible for Wednesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at TD Garden.
Khokhlachev was last recalled by Boston on November 3 and skated in two games with the Bruins. In total, Khokhlachev has appeared in six games for Boston from 2014 to 2015, including his NHL debut on April 13, 2014 against the Devils in New Jersey.
The 22-year-old has skated in 17 games for Providence thus far this season, registering six goals and 14 assists (first on the team) for 20 points (first on the team).
At the AHL level, Khokhlachev has appeared in 154 career games, accruing 44-79=123 totals.
The 5’10”, 181-pound native of Moscow, Russia was drafted by the Bruins in the second round (40th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
