BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, March 1, that the team has recalled defenseman Joe Morrow from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Morrow, 24, has skated in 17 games this season with Boston, recording one assist. In 65 NHL games with Boston from 2014-17, the 6-foot-1, 199-pound blueliner has posted two goals and seven assists for nine points with 16 penalty minutes. Morrow has also appeared in three games with Providence this season, recording one goal, two penalty minutes and a plus-one rating. In 155 career AHL games, he has compiled 14 goals and 46 assists for 60 points.
The Edmonton, Alberta native was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
