Bruins Recall Adam McQuaid from Providence

BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Adam McQuaid to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League). McQuaid will travel with the team to Carolina and be available to play in Sunday’s game against the Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. ET (TV: NESN, RADIO: 98.5 The Sports Hub)

The 23-year-old McQuaid made his Bruins/NHL debut on December 19 in Toronto and has skated in eight games this year for Boston.  He has played in 30 games this season for Providence and has registered 3-7=10 totals and 66 penalty minutes.  He was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round (55th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.  McQuaid was traded to Boston from Columbus for a 2007 fifth round draft pick on May 16, 2007
