Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, December 29, that the club has placed David Krejci on Injured Reserve with an upper body injury and recalled Seth Griffith from Providence (American Hockey League). Griffith will be eligible for Tuesday night's game against the Ottawa Senators at TD Garden.
This marks Griffith’s first recall of the 2015-16 season. Last year, he skated in 30 games with the Bruins, including his NHL debut on October 13, 2014 against the Colorado Avalanche. In total, Griffith has amassed six goals and four assists for 10 points in his career with Boston.
The 22-year-old has played in 24 games with the Providence Bruins thus far in 2015-16, totaling 10 goals (tied for first on the team) and 17 assists (first on the team) for 27 points.
At the AHL level, Griffith has appeared in 132 career games, accruing 42-66=108 totals.
The 5’9”, 192-pound native of Wallaceburg, Ontario was drafted by the Bruins in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
