Bruins Call Goaltender Brian Finley Up From Providence

BOSTON, MA – Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that goaltender Brian Finley has been called up to join the club from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Finley, a Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native, signed with the Bruins on July 17, 2006 after spending four years with the Nashville Predators organization.

Finley has played eight games with Providence this season, maintaining a record of 5-3-0 and a goals-against average of 3.08.

Over the course of his career Finley has played two NHL games, with a record of 0-1-0 and a goals-against average of 5.61. He has played four seasons in the AHL, with his best statistical season coming in 2004-05 when he played a career-high 64 games, earning a record of 36-22-4 with seven shutouts and a goals-against average of 2.29.

The Bruins are in action at home twice this week as they host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night and the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night. On both nights the action will start at 7:00 p.m. at the TD Banknorth Garden.
