Bruins Assign Lashoff and Rask to Providence Bruins

Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Matt Lashoff and goaltender Tuukka Rask to the Providence Bruins (AHL).


Lashoff, was recalled by Boston on Friday, November 9, and made his 2007-2008 NHL debut last night, playing 9:26 in the Bruins 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres at the TD Banknorth Garden.  He has appeared in nine games this season for Providence tallying one goal and two assists.

Rask, who was recalled by the Bruins on November 5, did not see any action during his stint with Boston and has yet to make his NHL debut.  He has recorded a 6-1 record with a 2.00 goals-against average through seven starts this season in Providence.

The 8-6-2 Bruins return to action on Thursday night at the TD Banknorth Garden when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs at 7:00 p.m. ET.
