BOSTON -Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, January 12, that the team has assigned Jeremy Swayman to Providence and recalled defenseman Tyler Lewington from Providence on an emergency basis.
Swayman, 23, has compiled a 8-6-2 record with a 2.26 goals against average and .918 save percentage in 16 games with Boston this season. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound netminder has appeared in 26 career NHL games with the Bruins, producing a 15-9-2 record with a 1.96 goals against average and .928 save percentage with three shutouts.
Lewington, 27, has posted one goal and three assists for four points with a plus-nine rating in 24 AHL games with Providence this season. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman has appeared in 10 career NHL games with Nashville and Washington, totaling one goal and two assists for three points.
