BOSTON, MA –
Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced the club's 2008-2009 preseason schedule today.
The Bruins will kickoff their preseason by holding the 5th annual Boston Bruins Foundation Golf Tournament at Pine Hills Golf Club in Plymouth, MA on September 17. The tournament will feature the Bruins entire roster, as well as a number of prominent Bruins Alumni. More information regarding the tournament is available by clicking here
The Bruins will officially begin their on-ice portion of training camp on September 19 when the team takes the ice at the TD Banknorth Garden. The team will also practice at the TD Banknorth Garden on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, and the sessions on these days will be open to the public at no cost.
On Monday, September 22 the Bruins will practice at Ristuccia Arena prior to departing for a five-day road trip that will see them play four preseason games and spend four nights in Halifax, NS. The team will take on the Montreal Canadiens in Halifax at 8:00 p.m. ET on September 22, the New York Islanders at 8:30 p.m. ET in Moncton, NB on September 23, and back-to-back games against the Detroit Red Wings - first in Halifax, NS at 8:00 p.m. ET on September 25 and then in Detroit at 7:30 p.m. ET on September 26.
The B's return home to the TD Banknorth Garden on Saturday, September 27 when they take on the Washington Capitals at 4:00 p.m. ET.
On Sunday, September 28 the Bruins will depart for Stowe, VT where they will spend three nights. The team is scheduled to practice in Stowe on September 29-October 1, before heading North to take on Montreal at the Bell Centre at 7:30 p.m. ET on October 1.
Boston will then practice at Ristuccia Arena on October 2 and 3, before wrapping up the preseason schedule with a home game at the TD Banknorth Garden on Saturday, October 4 at 4:00 p.m. ET against the New York Islanders, and then a road game in Washington, DC against the Capitals on Sunday, October 5 at 5:00 p.m. ET.
