Bruins Announce First Round Playoff Information Against the Detroit Red Wings

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Bruins announced today, April 13, their preliminary game, practice and media availability schedule for the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Detroit Red Wings. Playoff credential policies are also outlined below. Please note that all members of the media covering Bruins practices must have a form of valid press identification with them and visible at all times.


Games 1 and 2 of the B’s/Wings series will be played in Boston at TD Garden on Friday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET and on Sunday, April 20th at 3:00 p.m. ET.  The Red Wings will then host the Bruins for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET and Thursday, April 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.  If necessary, Game 5 is set for Saturday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. ET in Boston, while Game 6 will be back in Detroit on Monday, April 28 (time TBD), and Game 7 will be played in Boston on Wednesday, April 30 (time TBD).

Television broadcast information is posted below. All playoff games can be heard on the Bruins flagship radio station, 98.5 FM The Sports Hub.

Please see the weekly schedule below for the team’s upcoming practice times and media availability, including a pre-playoffs press conference with Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli which will be held on Monday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Will McDonough Room at TD Garden.

Please be aware that Bruins regular season credentials WILL NOT be valid for Bruins home games during the playoffs. Members of the media must submit requests on a game-by-game basis. Please send an email to Jenna Gilberti at jgilberti@bostonbruins.com by the respective deadline, listed in the CREDENTIALING section below.

Unlike previous years, there will not be a media hotel rate on the road for those members of the press traveling to Detroit.

Members of the media who are approved for playoff credentials can pick them up at the Bruins Media Will Call table from 9:00 a.m. ET – 12:00 p.m. ET and 2:30 – 8:00 p.m. ET on HOME GAMEDAYS.  The Bruins Media Will Call table is located at the Back Security Entrance on the East Side of the TD Garden.

PHOTOGRAPHER POSITIONS (HOME GAMES):
The Bruins will have a total of 28 still photographer positions at the TD Garden for the playoffs.  These positions will be assigned by the Bruins during a photographers meeting which will be held 90 minutes prior to all home games.  The photographers meeting will take place in the Zamboni entrance (level 3), and will be led by a member of the Bruins Communications Staff.
