by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Bruins and the Massachusetts State Lottery announced today, Tuesday, September 30, that they are unveiling the 2014 Boston Bruins Instant Ticket. The new $2 ticket goes on sale today at the Lottery’s 7,400 licensed retailers across the state.

The 2014 Boston Bruins Instant Ticket is the Lottery’s fourth Bruins-branded offering since 2009. This new game offers immediate “scratch and win” cash prizes and second chance prizes totaling over $22 million, including 10 top prizes of $50,000 and 3,184,804 prizes ranging from $2 to $4,000.

“We are proud to once again partner with the Massachusetts State Lottery,” said Bruins President Cam Neely. “Through the sales of the past three Bruins instant tickets, millions of dollars have been generated for the cities and towns throughout Massachusetts, and we are excited to build on that success with this new ticket.”

The game also features a unique second-chance drawing program through which players can enter their non-winning tickets for a chance to win unique game-night experiences, autographed retired number banners, an array of authentic team-branded memorabilia that players can choose from via an online prize store and even more money – up to $25,000 cash – in a contest held on the ice at the TD Garden during a Bruins home game. There will be five second chance drawings during the sales period of the 2014 Boston Bruins Instant Ticket.

The Lottery’s Bruins-branded tickets have amassed over $140.9 million in sales and generated approximately $24 million in net profit to date. Lottery profits are the largest source of unrestricted local aid for the 351 cities and towns across the Commonwealth. Sales from this new $2 game are expected to reach $30.2 million and can help grow monies available for return to municipalities by another $5.8 million.
