Boston Bruins Week Ahead: 12/6 - 12/12

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
BRUINS WRAP UP FLORIDA SWING, COME HOME (BRIEFLY)

AND THEN HEAD SOUTH (AGAIN):
The Eastern Conference leading Bruins conclude their two-game Florida trip when they play the Panthers Saturday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m. in Florida.  After hosting the Lightning on Monday, December 8, at 7:00, the B's will travel to Washington to play the Capitals for the first time in '08 on Wednesday, December 10, and head straight to Atlanta to take on the Thrashers Friday, December 12.

The Bruins are 15-2-1 in their last 18 contests.

PHIL THE THRILL:
Phil Kessel's 15 goals in the team's first 25 games of the season are the fastest a player has reached that mark since Glen Murray scored 16 in the first 25 contests in 2002-03. Kessel’s 15 goals currently rank third in the league, three off the pace set by Buffalo's Thomas Vanek and Philadelphia's Jeff Carter.  He is currently riding a 10 game point streak—the longest active streak in the league and three games shy of the longest point streak on the season (E, Malkin PIT 13).  Kessel has accumulated 8-5=13 totals over this span.

THE INSTIGATORS: NESN debuted their new half hour hockey show, "The Instigators," last Thursday.  Every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., the gloves come off. Join Mike Milbury, Andy Brickley and Jack Edwards as they set aside one extra hockey topic for NESN.com that they debate in "Two Minutes for Instigating."

A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER:  After last Saturday’s 4-1 win over Detroit, the Bruins finished the month of November with an 11-1-1 record and 23 points. It was their best month since they had 24 points in December of 1978 with an 11-2-2 record in that month.
