THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…
STAT OF THE WEEK: Brandon Carlo leads all NHL rookies among average time on ice per game (22:24) and plus/minus (+11)
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "Maybe we're not a team that's going to play 6-4 games and that's great for your stat sheet and might look good for contract negotiation time. But, that belief system that, if you win and you win on a regular basis and you're able to get far in the playoffs, that you can take that stat sheet and you can light it on fire, that that contract negotiations for winners and people that go deeper into the playoffs is much more valuable than a cute stat sheet on a team that's not winning games. That belief system is really starting to sink in and you're seeing the enjoyment around the rink." - David Backes on playing with a good system.
TWEET OF THE WEEK (WEEK 10): @michaelFhurley (Michael Hurley, CBS Boston Sports): "Fun fact: If Rob Gronkowski and Patrice Bergeron were to fight to the death, it would go on forever. Just science, people. Look it up."
HONORABLE MENTIONS: @HackswithHaggs (Joe Haggerty, CSNNE.com): "Maybe it was the pure Rocky Mountain water out in Colorado, but looks like Claude Julien's goatee a lil darker now than it was few days ago"
@PeteBlackburn (Pete Blackburn, Fox Sports): "[David] Pastrnak gonna score 70 easy"
@bruinshockeynow (Dan Ryan, Bruins Hockey Now): "when someone questions if u r elite"
