BOSTON BRUINS WEEK AHEAD 11/29 - 12/5


"NEW" LOOK B'S TAKE THE ICE ON BLACK FRIDAY:  The B's will play their annual Day After Thanksgiving matinee game on Friday, November 28 when they face off against the Islanders at 12:00 p.m. ET.  It will be "Black Friday"” at the Garden, as the team will wear their new third jersey system for the first time.  The Third Jersey System is predominantly black with Boston's secondary logo on the chest of the sweater.

SWEET START:  With a 14-4-4 record and 32 points through their first 22 games this season, the Bruins are off to their best start since the 2002-2003 season when they had 34 points on a 15-3-3-1 mark.  The club record at the 22-game mark is 38 points, set during the 1929-1930 season when the Black and Gold jumped out to a 19-3-0 record.

DEFENDING CHAMPS ROLL IN; B'S TAKE MIDWEEK TRIP DOWN SOUTH:  The Bruins will host the defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, November 29 before departing for Tampa on Wednesday.  The Bruins will play the Lightning in Tampa on Thursday and then the Panthers in Florida on Saturday, December 6.  Tampa Bay and Boston have yet to play this season while the Bruins defeated the Panthers in their lone tilt in 2008-2009.

WHAT: TD Banknorth PASS Clinic.
-The 4th clinic in a 10-clinic series conducted by the Boston Bruins and sponsored by TD Banknorth. 
-The PASS or Partnership to Assist Skaters and Shooters, focuses on teaching youth hockey players between the ages of 8 and 12 skating and shooting skills.

The Bruins are 9-6-1 all-time during their Day-After-Thanksgiving matinee games.  The Day After Thanksgiving matinee has been a Black and Gold tradition since the 1990-1991 season.

-The Boston Bruins are currently ranked second in the Eastern Conference, and first in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference with a 14-4-4 record
-The Bruins have the fourth most points overall in the NHL
-The Bruins hold the second-best road record in the NHL with a 7-3-3 run while traveling, and hold first place on the road in the Eastern Conference
-Goaltender Tim Thomas is first in the NHL in goals against average with 1.88, and second in save percentage with .940 percent (C. Anderson FLA, .942).
-Marc Savard is third in the NHL in assists with 20 (E. Malkin PIT, 25) and ranked sixth in the NHL in points with 28 (E. Malkin PIT, 35)
