Boston Bruins Week Ahead 11/22 - 11/28

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
SO FAR, A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER:  The Bruins remain unbeaten in regulation with a 7-0-1 record during the month of November.  The Bruins still have five games remaining in the month, however, including tonight when they host the Panthers. Their last regulation loss came during a 3-2 loss to Calgary on October 30.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME…:  The Bruins have won their last six games at home and are 6-1-1 on the year at the TD Banknorth Garden, entering Friday night's game against the Panthers.

… BUT THE ROAD ISN'T BAD EITHER:  With a 6-2-3 record away from home, the Bruins own the best road record in the Eastern Conference and second best road record in the NHL, trailing only Detroit who is 9-1-1.

"BLACK FRIDAY":  The B’s will play their annual Day After Thanksgiving matinee game on Friday, November 28 when they face off against the Islanders at 12:00 p.m. ET.  It will be "Black Friday" at the Garden, as the team will wear their new third jersey for the first time.  The Day After Thanksgiving matinee has been a Black and Gold tradition since the 1990-1991 season.

10 IN 18:  The Bruins are in the midst of a stretch where they play 10 games in 18 days.  This run began on November 12 in Chicago and concludes November 29 against Detroit.  Through five games so far, the Bruins have a 4-0-1 record.

OLD TIME HOCKEY: Throughout the Bruins/Panthers game on Friday, November 21, the Boston Bruins will honor what some say to be the greatest hockey movie of all time, Slap Shot. The first 10,000 fans in attendance on Friday will receive Hanson Brother style glasses, courtesy of the TD Banknorth Garden. A lucky fan will also receive the ultimate Slap Shot prize pack featuring movie staples: orange and grape sodas and a toy car set. The winner will also have their seat upgraded.

CAST YOUR BALLOT:  Online voting for the NHL All-Star game is well underway.  Representing the Bruins on the ballot are Patrice Bergeron, Marc Savard and Zdeno Chara.  Voters also have the opportunity to write-in other players not on the ballot.

VOICES:  Bruins radio play-by-play man Dave Goucher will be featured on an upcoming episode of NHL Network’s new show, "Voices," which chronicles a gameday with broadcast personalities around the league. The show will air at the following times:
Sunday, Nov. 23        6:30 pm ET
