BRUINS COMMENT ON MAYOR MENINO’S PASSING; TEAM TO HONOR MENINO BEFORE GAME VS. SENATORS: Boston Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs and President Cam Neely issued the following statements regarding the passing of Mayor Thomas M. Menino:

Charlie Jacobs: “I was saddened today to learn of the passing of Mayor Menino and on behalf of the Jacobs Family I would like to express my deepest condolences to his family. My family and I witnessed first-hand how Mayor Menino's vision and leadership helped transform Boston into one of the greatest cities in the world. Today we join all Bostonians in mourning our loss and celebrating Mayor Menino's enduring legacy."

Cam Neely: “The Boston Bruins organization is deeply saddened by the passing of Mayor Menino and we would like to express our deepest condolences to his family. Mayor Menino was synonymous with the City of Boston and the professional sports teams that represented it. His passion was always evident and his support unwavering. He will be deeply missed.”

The team will honor the late mayor before Saturday’s game vs. Ottawa (11/1).

BRUINS TO HOST MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT ON 11/10; BARTKOWSKI, KELLY, KREJCI, KRUG, MARCHAND, MILLER TO DONATE $2,500 EACH IN SEATS FOR MILITARY MEMBERS: The Boston Bruins will honor local military members, veterans, and their families at Military Appreciation Night presented by the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Army National Guard on Monday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. during the Bruins vs. New Jersey Devils game at the TD Garden. To show their support for the armed forces on the eve of this upcoming Veterans Day, Bruins players Matt Bartkowski, Chris Kelly, David Krejci, Torey Krug, Brad Marchand, and Kevan Miller will each purchase $2,500 worth of tickets to the Bruins/Devils game to give to local military members and their families.  The military members and families who sit in these player-donated seats will have the opportunity to meet the players postgame. Patrice Bergeron will host Defending The Blue Line (DTBL) in his private suite as part of his Patrice’s Pals program. DTBL is a non-profit organization, which ensures children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey. Bruins fans can follow the lead of their favorite Bruins players through the team’s “Seats for Soldiers” program. The Seats for Soldiers program enables fans to purchase specially priced $125 Lower Level Seats and $75 Upper Level Seats that will be donated to the Boston Bruins Foundation who in turn will donate them to the USO New England. HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER PURPLE JERSEY AUCTION:  The Boston Bruins Foundation will be raffling and auctioning off the team signed, warm-up worn purple jerseys both in game on 11/1 and online at auctions.nhl.com.
 
WIN SUITE TICKETS TO BRUINS/PANTHERS GAME 11/4: The Bruins Foundation is currently raffling off the opportunity to watch longtime fan favorite, Shawn Thornton, return to the TD Garden for the first time. The winner and a guest will each receive a luxury suite ticket to attend the Boston Bruins game against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, November 4. In addition to viewing the game, the winner will receive one (1) zamboni ride. Drawing will take place on Monday, November 3, 2014.

P.A.S.S. CLINIC SERIES PRESENTED BY TD BANK: TD Bank and the Boston Bruins have teamed up for the ninth straight year to support New England youth hockey through the P.A.S.S. (Partnership to Assist Skates and Shooters) clinic series.  P.A.S.S. features a free on-ice clinic conducted by Bruins alumni and members of the Boston Bruins Youth Hockey Development Team.  The clinic includes instruction on hockey fundamentals such as skating, passing and shooting, as well as a $1,000 donation from TD Bank to each hosting youth hockey organization.  In addition, each individual participant will receive two tickets to an upcoming Bruins game as well as a TD Bank P.A.S.S. jersey and gift bag.  P.A.S.S. clinics are open to youth hockey players between the ages of 8 and 12.  For more information, visit the “Around Town” section of the Week Ahead.

SEASON 2 OF BEHIND THE B: Season Two of the Black & Gold’s all-access television series “Behind the B” presented by Alex and Ani has begun, 13 episodes of “Behind the B” are slated to air during the 2014-15 season. All episodes will again be narrated by actor and Worcester, MA native, Denis Leary.

MILESTONES REACHED: Patrice Bergeron netted his 500th NHL careen point in Toronto on 10/25, Loui Eriksson reached 400 career NHL points in Buffalo on 10/30 and Dennis Seidenberg gained his 200th career NHL point also in Buffalo on 10/30.

FIRST NHL GAMES FOR 3 B’S:
Joe Morrow played in his first career NHL game in Buffalo on 10/30, joining Seth Griffith and Bobby Robins who both played in their first NHL game with the Bruins earlier this season.

219 AND COUNTING: Counting the Bruins’ game vs. the Wild on October 28, the Boston Bruins have sold out 219 straight regular season and playoff games. This sellout streak began more than four years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).

OFF THE ICE…

PATRICE’S PALS: As a part of his continuing charitable initiative Patrice’s Pals, Bruins alternate captain Patrice Bergeron invites children from local hospitals and other organizations to experience a Bruins home game from his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia, a visit from the Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls, as well as a feature on the Garden HDX. After the game, Patrice’s Pals are escorted to ice level and introduced to Patrice himself who signs autographs and takes pictures with his Pals.

COMMUNITY TICKET PROGRAM: For the entirety of the Boston Bruins 2014-15 regular season, Bruins Principal and Alternate Governor Charlie Jacobs is donating ten balcony tickets to every home game to children from charitable organizations across New England, who are invited to enjoy a Bruins home game from these donated seats.
