Boston Bruins Week Ahead 11/1 - 11/7

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
Welcome Back

The Bruins return to Boston today after a western Canadian road trip in which they compiled a 2-1-0 record against Western Conference foes Edmonton, Vancouver, and Calgary.

Tim Thomas posted back-to-back shutouts over the Oilers and Canucks, the first Bruins goalie to do so since Byron Dafoe's two-shutout effort April 3-5, 1999.

He also became just the second goaltender in NHL history to record consecutive 1-0 shutouts on the road and is the only goaltender in NHL history to accomplish the back-to-back 1-0 road shutout feat on consecutive nights.

Florida Panthers goalie Craig Anderson had two road shutouts in a three-day span last year, with 1-0 wins over the Islanders in New York on March 2 and Bruins in Boston on March 4.

Home Cooking
After playing 8 of their first 11 games on the road, the Bruins will enjoy a three-game homestand beginning Saturday night, November 1 when they host the Dallas Stars.  The Bruins will then play the Maple Leafs on Thursday, November 6 and Sabres on Saturday, November 8.  All games start at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The B's have 13 games scheduled in November and will play eight of those at the TD Banknorth Garden.
