BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, November 25, that the club has recalled forward Seth Griffith from the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) and assigned Jordan Caron & Alexander Khokhlachev to the Providence Bruins. Griffith will join the Bruins for Wednesday’s practice at 10:30 a.m. at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, MA.
Griffith has scored five goals with Boston (tied for first on the team with three others), while also chipping in two assists in 18 appearances. The forward made his NHL debut on October 13, 2014 against the Colorado Avalanche at TD Garden. The 21-year-old Griffith also had his first multiple point game against the Minnesota Wild on October 28 at TD Garden, where he tallied two goals and one assists.
Griffith skated in three games with the P-Bruins this season, tallying two goals and one assists with a plus-three rating. Last year, Griffith skated in 69 games with Providence and scored 20 goals (tied for third on the team) and notched 30 assists (third on the team) for a total of 50 points (second on the team). He also skated in 12 playoff games with Providence accruing four goals and seven assists.
In his four seasons playing with the London Knights (Ontario Hockey League), Griffith scored a total of 102 goals with 159 assists for 231 points in 207 games played. Griffith has also played in 56 playoff games with London while tallying 26 goals and 36 assists.
The 5’9 192 lb. native of Wallaceburg, ON was drafted by the Bruins in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Caron has skated in two games for Boston this season against the Colorado Avalanche on October 13, 2014 and the November 24 vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins. From 2010-2014, the 24-year-old forward has appeared in 125 games for Boston, tallying 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points. Caron has also skated in nine postseason contests with Boston, notching one goal.
Caron has competed in 10 games for Providence this year, compiling six goals (lead the team) with four assists and a plus-five rating. During his career with Providence, Caron has appeared in 121 games while posting 33 goals and 36 assists for 69 points.
The 6’3”, 204-pound Sayabec, Quebec native was drafted by the Bruins in the first round (25th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
After being recalled on November 20, Khokhlachev appeared in three games with the Boston Bruins. The forward has now played in a total of four games in Boston, including his NHL debut last season on April 13, 2014 against the New Jersey Devils.
Khokhlachev has skated in 15 games for the Providence Bruins this season, recording five goals (first on the team) and 11 assists (second on the team) for 16 points (tied for first on the team) with a plus-two rating. In total, the forward has appeared in 91 games with Providence from 2012 to 2014, racking up 28 goals and 48 assists.
The 21-year-old center played for the Windsor Spitfires from 2010-13 and appeared in 152 games. While with the Spitfires, Khokhlachev racked up 81 goals and 112 assists for 193 points. The forward also played 26 games for the Moscow Spartak in 2012-13 and accrued two goals and five assists.
The 5’11”, 184-pound native of Moscow, Russia was drafted by the Bruins in the second round (40th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
