Boston Bruins Recall Jordan Caron and David Pastrnak from the Providence Bruins

BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, November 24, that the club has recalled forwards Jordan Caron and David Pastrnak from the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League). Caron and Pastrnak will join the team Monday and are eligible for Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at TD Garden. This is the first NHL recall of Pastrnak's career.
Caron skated in one game for Boston this season against the Colorado Avalanche on October 13, 2014. From 2010-2014, the 24-year-old forward has appeared in 124 games for Boston, tallying 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points. Caron has also skated in nine postseason contests with Boston, notching one goal.
Caron has competed in 10 games for Providence this year, compiling six goals (lead the team) with four assists and a plus-five rating. During his career with Providence, Caron has appeared in 121 games while posting 33 goals and 36 assists for 69 points.
The 6’3”, 204-pound Sayabec, Quebec native was drafted by the Bruins in the first round (25th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
In 17 games with Providence, Pastrnak has notched five goals (tied for second on the team) and 13 assists (leads the team) for 18 points (leads the team) with a plus-12 rating (leads the team team). His 18 points are tied for fifth in the AHL overall with five other skaters. On November 3, the AHL named the 18-year-old forward the CCM/AHL Rookie of the Month for October when he tallied two goals and seven assists with a plus-8 rating in seven matchups for Providence.
Pastrnak, a 6'0’’, 167-pound native of Havirov, Czech Republic, spent the majority of the 2013-14 season with Södertälje of the Swedish B League (Allsvenskan League) where he appeared in 36 games and accumulated eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points. The forward also skated in one game for the Södertälje J20 team (SuperElite) where he totaled two points with a goal and an assist.
The forward played on the Czech Republic U18 World Junior team where he served as assistant captain, the Czech Republic U18 International Junior team, the Czech Republic U20 World Junior team, and the Czech Republic U20 International Junior team. During his time with those teams he totaled seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 35 games played.
Pastrnak was drafted by the Bruins in the first round (25th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The forward attended Bruins Development Camp in July of 2014.
