BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the team has recalled forward Jeff Hoggan from the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) on an emergency basis. Hoggan has traveled with the team to Buffalo for their game against the Sabres on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET.
Assigned to Providence on October 1, 2007, Hoggan has played in 67 AHL games this season, tallying 28 goals and 30 assists.
The 30-year old Hope, British Columbia native split the 2006-2007 season between Boston and Providence, playing in 46 games for Boston and registering two assists. He also played in 22 games for Providence, notching four goals and seven assists.
During the 2005-2006 season, Hoggan played his first full NHL season while with the St. Louis Blues. That season, Hoggan played in 52 games for St. Louis scoring two goals and recording six assists.
In 98 career NHL games, Hoggan has scored two goals and added eight assists.
