Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Matt Lashoff from the Providence Bruins (AHL).
This marks the second time in the 2007-2008 season that Lashoff has been recalled from Providence. He was recalled on Friday, November 9 and made his 2007-2008 NHL debut against Buffalo on November 10, playing 9:26 in the Bruins 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres at the TD Banknorth Garden.
Through 28 games with Providence this season, the 21-year-old Lashoff has tallied 4 goals, 16 assists and a +9 plus/minus rating.
Drafted by the Bruins with the 22nd overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Lashoff made his NHL debut on October 26, 2006 in a 3-2 loss against the Montreal Canadiens. He appeared in a total of 12 games for Boston last season and registered two assists.
