Boston Bruins Recall Defenseman Matt Lashoff

Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Matt Lashoff on an emergency basis from the Providence Bruins (AHL).  Lashoff will be at the Bruins' morning skate at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the TD Banknorth Garden.

Lashoff, who was assigned to Providence on September 26, has appeared in nine games this season for Providence tallying one goal and two assists.

Drafted by the Bruins with the 22nd overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Lashoff made his NHL debut in a 3-2 Boston Bruins loss to the Montreal Canadiens at the TD Banknorth Garden on October 26, 2006.  Lashoff appeared in a total of 12 games for Boston last season registering two assists.  In 64 games with Providence last season, Lashoff notched 11 goals and 25 assists.

The 7-6-2 Bruins host the Buffalo Sabres at the TD Banknorth Garden on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET.
