by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
Boston – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled center David Krejci from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Krejci, who is 20 years old and from Sternderk, Czech Republic, was selected in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. This is Krejci’s first season in Providence after spending the previous two years playing for the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Krejci made his NHL debut on Janurary 30, 2007 when he played three shifts before suffering a concussion in the club’s 7-1 loss in Buffalo. Since that time, Krejci has played in five games with Boston this season. While with Providence this season, Krejci has scored 21 goals and registered 35 assists in 56 games played.

The Bruins are in action tonight at the TD Banknorth Garden when they host the Minnesota Wild at 7:00 p.m. ET. Tonight, like every Thursday night game, is a Student Night.
