Boston Bruins Holiday Tournament

BOSTON, MA - The Boston Bruins are returning to the Haverhill Valley Forum to host the second annual "Boston Bruins Holiday Tournament" from Sunday, December 27 through Wednesday, December 30. The event will feature Mite and Squirt squads playing in a minimum of three games over a four-day period. As an added bonus, each team will have the opportunity to win a team set of tickets to the 2010 NHL/Bridgestone Winter Classic between the Bruins and Flyers at Fenway Park on January 1, 2010.

To kick-off the Boston Bruins Holiday Tournament coaches from each team will be invited to compete in a skill-based hockey challenge and the winning coaches will receive tickets for their team to go to the 2010 NHL/Bridgestone Winter Classic. Eight teams - one team per division - will win the tickets.

The tournament features four Mite and Squirt divisions. The Mite divisions participating are: Mite Elite (‘01), Mite A, Mite B, and Mite C. The Squirt divisions participating are: Squirt Elite (‘00), Squirt A, Squirt B, and Squirt C. Each team is guaranteed three full games with three 12-minute periods. Teams will be competing in a round robin style tournament, with qualifying teams advancing to the semi-finals, and final rounds. The team fee for the tournament is $850 per team, with a maximum of six teams per division. Net proceeds from the “Second annual Boston Bruins Holiday Tournament, will go to the Boston Bruins Foundation.

The tournament champion and runner-up from each division will be presented with awards. Tournament champions from each division will also be highlighted on the Boston Bruins website,

No one will go home empty handed as each of the participants will receive a Bruins gift bag and tournament t-shirt. A raffle featuring Bruins autographed items and game tickets will be available for purchase, giving Bruins fans the chance to head home with one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia. Throughout the evening the Boston Bruins mascot, Blades, will be mingling and taking photographs with fans.

The Haverhill Valley Forum features two ice surfaces, a glass-enclosed mezzanine viewing area, a full-service pro shop and concessions center and a 3,000 square-foot physical training center managed by Athletic Evolution.
