BOSTON, MA – The Boston Bruins Foundation will be hosting the third annual NHL Alumni Pro-Am to benefit Boston Children’s Hospital on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, 2015. This year’s tournament, which was renamed in honor of Corey C. Griffin, has already raised over $800,000 to support the care and research of pediatric head trauma at the Boston Children’s Hospital Pediatric Head Trauma Unit.
On Friday, April 24, there will be a Draft Party held for the tournament at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, MA. At the draft, 17 teams will be slotted based on their fund-raising efforts. Participants will get the opportunity to skate with Bruins greats including Ray Bourque, Bob Beers, Hal Gill, Ken Hodge, Brian Leetch, Rick Middleton and Bob Sweeney, among others.
The Pro-Am tournament begins on Saturday, April 25 and continues on Sunday, April 26. The championship game will take place at 12:30 PM on Sunday; this game will feature the top fund-raising team playing the NHL Alumni. All of the games are open to the public and will take place at the New England Sports Center (121 Donald Lynch Boulevard, Marlborough, MA).
