Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Mark Stuart to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Stuart, a second-year player from Rochester, Minnesota and Colorado College, has played 15 games with the Bruins this season, tallying one assist. After being recalled by Boston on Friday, March 23, Stuart played four games with the Bruins. The most recent of these appearances came last night in the Bruins' 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh at the TD Banknorth Garden.
While with Providence this season, the 22-year old Stuart has played 42 games, scoring four goals and registering 15 assists.
The Bruins return to action tomorrow, Saturday, March 31, when they host the Atlanta Thrashers in a 1:00 p.m. ET matinee at the TD Banknorth Garden.
