BOSTON, MA - Boston bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, December 20, that the team has assigned defenseman Joe Morrow to the Providence Bruins.
Morrow skated in 15 games with Boston this season, including his NHL debut on October 30 against the Sabres in Buffalo. The 22-year-old blueliner notched his first career NHL goal on November 24 against the Pittsburgh Penguins at TD Garden.
Morrow has competed in five games with the Providence Bruins this season, tallying one goal and one assist. Last year, Morrow appeared in 56 games with Providence and scored six goals and notched 23 assist for a total of 29 points.
The 6'1", 206-pound native of Edmonton, AB was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
