BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned center David Krejci
to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Krejci, who is 20 years old and from Sternberk, Czech Republic, was selected in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. This is Krejci’s first season in Providence after spending the previous two years playing for the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
Krejci made his NHL debut on January 30, 2007 when he played three shifts before suffering a concussion in the club’s 7-1 loss in Buffalo. Krejci has played in five games with Boston this season. While with Providence this season, Krejci has scored 19 goals and registered 32 assists in 50 games played.
The Bruins return to action on Thursday night when they host the Philadelphia Flyers at the TD Banknorth Garden at 7:00 p.m. ET. This Thursday, as every Thursday night game, is a Student Night. All high school and college students are eligible for one half-price ticket in the $45.50 and $55.00 price range with a valid student ID.
