When Andrew Alberts, Bobby Allen and Chuck Kobasew take the ice this evening in the TD Banknorth Garden, the Boston Bruins will have three former Boston College Eagles in the lineup to face off against the Colorado Avalanche.
"It’s been a long time," said Kobasew, who was hurt on January 28th while playing for Calgary. "I’ve been skating here for a couple of weeks, so I am excited to actually get into a game."
Prior to leaving Calgary, Chuck had a 4-13-17 line in 40-games with a plus/minus rating of +7.
Better still, in 15 games versus Colorado in his career, Kobasew has six goals and six assists for 12 points.
"It’s one of the teams I’ve had a chance to play more often," said Kobasew, who doesn’t care who the opponent is tonight. "It’s just nice to be back playing.
"It will be my first game with this team, and I am excited."
Kobasew’s insertion into the lineup is somewhat of a surprise, as Bruins head coach Dave Lewis, as late as Saturday, had said he did not to expect him to play tonight.
"It was tough to put a day on it," said the forward. "It was one of those injuries where you come down the final stretch (of recovery) where it’s a day-to-day thing. And the last couple of days it felt good."
