BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, Friday, October 23, that the club has activated defenseman Joe Morrow from Injured Reserve and taken forward Seth Griffith off Injured non-roster status and assigned Griffith to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League). Griffith has yet to see any regular season game action this year due to a MCL sprain in his left knee that occurred in a Boston Bruins preseason game on September 20.
Morrow has played in three games this season for Boston and 18 NHL games in his career, with one goal.
Griffith skated in 30 games for Boston last season, notching six goals and four assists for a total of 10 points. He made his NHL debut on October 13, 2014 vs. Colorado and scored his first NHL goal shortly after on October 21 vs. San Jose.
The 5’9'', 191-pound native of Wallaceburg, Ontario was drafted by the Bruins in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
