I’m very impressed with the Bell Centre and its facilities folks.
I love our Garden first and foremost. It is home, literally -- I spend more time there than I do at my house.
But this is certainly a nice place for hockey.
"It’s a building full of legends, and it’s not a bad thing for our guys to see," said Dave Lewis (right) earlier today. "I can’t believe the retired jerseys -- and they are still missing a few."
"Is Dryden getting done this year," asked Lewis of a nearby reporter. He answered in the affirmative.
Asked if his own Bruins have a grasp of the great history of the game, and if days like today mattered to them, Lewis thought and said.
"I hope it does," he said. "Even though you might be a [from somewhere other than North America], I hope that seeing these guys and the foundation that they established and the passion they had for the game; it’s something that you would like to rub off on your team."
Lewis was asked to evaluate his team.
"I try to take it day to day," said Lewis. "I still think we can improve in a lot of areas as a team. I think that individual players can improve.
"That’s just another [test], tonight on the road. Montreal is a hard working team...it’s going to be a tough opponent."
It will be a big test, check out my game stories and I will blog tomorrow.
