BOSTON, MA – The "Behind the B" show intro was awarded an Emmy from the Boston/New England chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Saturday, June 7. Produced by Travis Robertson and Greg Almeida of Arnold Worldwide and the Bruins Digital Entertainment Network (DEN), the "Behind the B" show intro was nominated in the Musical Composition and Arrangement category.
The intro was created using only still photography and then converted to a grainy/gray scale in order to create a raw, evocative look. Each photograph was treated with a combination of 2D, 3D, and After Effects Parallax to create moments seemingly frozen in time. The music is an original composition by Hifi Music, Paul Robb, and Jack Bradley.
This marked the first time the Bruins organization granted "Behind the B" cameras unprecedented access into the locker room, executive boardroom, and player’s homes to provide fans a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the 2013-14 Boston Bruins. 13 total episodes of "Behind the B" aired during the regular season and two episodes aired during the Bruins 2014 Stanley Cup Playoff run. The Bruins partnered with Charlie Moore and Mad Fish Productions to produce the show and it is narrated by actor and Worcester, MA native Denis Leary.
All 15 episodes are available to stream on the Bruins website under the "Behind the B" channel. Other exclusive "Behind the B" related content is available on bostonbruins.com, the Bruins DEN, and on the Boston Bruins Mobile App.
