Thankfully, the Bruins have the opportunity to bounce back very quickly. Tonight they take on Wayne Gretzky's Phoenix Coyotes. Both teams are in their second game of the 2007-08 campaign and both clubs have something to prove -- it should be a great game. JBWhere are we going?
Phoenix, Arizona (www.go-arizona.com)
Phoenix was established in 1874, when a patent for the site of Phoenix was issued by Ulysses S. Grant and the city was officially incorporated on Feb. 15, 1881.
The city is named after the Phoenix bird of Egyptian legend-- a bird that was burned in its nest and from the ashes a new and more beautiful bird arose. Darrell Duppa and other settlers felt that the town would rise from the ashes of the ancient cultures who had occupied the land so long before and grow into a new and more beautiful city.
Phoenix remained a small farming community until the 1930s when tourism began to flourish due to the warm climate and healthy environment. The population grew in rapidly, making Phoenix the 7th largest city in the U.S. today.Where are we playing?
Jobing.com Arena (www.glendaleaz.com)
Jobing.com Arena opened December 26, 2003 and is the anchor and first complete piece in Phoenix’s new Westgate City Center. Owned by the city of Glendale, the Glendale Arena is home to the Coyotes, the National Lacrosse League’s Arizona Sting, as well as a multitude of entertainment events. The Coyotes held their first game there on December 27, 2003 against the Nashville Predators in front of a standing-room only crowd of 19,052 fans. The arena has two separate concourses, as well 88 executive suites, 12 party suites, the Lexus Club, and the Rink Side Club. It also features an intimate seating bowl that has a “retro” feel with all the modern amenities. Who are we playing?
The Coyotes are in their 11th season in the NHL and have had many great highlights in their first ten seasons, most notably, when Wayne Gretzky became owner and managing partner of the Coyotes on February 15, 2001. He then became the head coach on August 8, 2005. When are we playing?

John Bishop is the beat writer for BostonBruins.com. He covers the Black & Gold hoping to offer a positive look at the team, not only from the stands and the press box, but also from inside the locker room. A graduate of Boston U. and Northeastern, 'Bish' grew up in Connecticut and moved to the Hub of Hockey in 1993. Since then he has made all four rinks at the Beanpot schools, as well as both Gardens, his icebound homes away from home. He coauthored the book Bygone Boston in 2003 and hopes someday to pen a bio of Hobey Baker.
Not sure yet. Morning skate was canceled and I will have to track down more info this afternoon. Is the game on?
Yes. NESN and WBZ will cover the game.7:03 a.m. (Phoenix time)
I have been up since 5:30 -- couldn't sleep, too wired -- so I started looking through my e-mail.

Time for some coffee folks...Keep it here. I'll try not to get lost from here to the coffee maker.8:28 a.m.
About an hour or so until we head out to the arena, and from what I've heard, it is not nearby. I am pretty psyched to see its retro look.
The scenery around here is amazing. Out my window you can see sand colored mountains like something out of a wild west move -- or even a movie about Mars. It is totally different than where we have been over the last month.1:52 p.m.
Back from the rink and lunch. The rink was gorgeous! Very well done. I was able to get into a media scrum with The Great One, himself. So that was pretty neat -- lemmie write it up for you.4:00 p.m.

I will update with our roster when I get to the arena.6:23 p.m.
Word is that 22 Bruins will be skating warm ups and that the lineup will not be finalized until after the skate.
Chuck Kobasew and Glen Murray will switch lines...6:29 p.m.Tim Thomas
just led the team onto the ice signifying that he will start this evening. Timmy has almost all gold pads with gold blocker and gold glove. His helmet is an updated version of his bear, with "Beware of Bear" across the back in the style of the new shoulder patch.
Tellqvist led the Coyotes onto the ice. Besides the Original Six, I think I like the Coyotes new uniform the best. Very nice.6:35 p.m.
Asked why he would be choosing his players so carefully tonight, Coach Julien said, "There are question marks."
Questioned about what the question marks were about, and whether they were due to injury, Julien said that if players did sit out because of injury, they were minor.6:42 p.m.
