The Bruins are preparing for morning skate as we speak and I was thinking about tonight’s game.
What a pivotal match up.
There is no doubt, Ladies and Gentlemen, that the Boston Bruins need their Seventh Player tonight. The Seventh Player is, of course, you, the fan. This is unquestionably the biggest game of the season and it is against the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Lakers of hockey -- the Montreal Canadiens.
As they have only been here a short time, many of the new Bruins have not heard the true measure of your enthusiasm and pride. And if you are going to the game tonight, of all nights, bring the noise!
Last time the Habs came in, their fans were cheering as they streamed into the building.
Bruins fans, of course, cheered back and cheered them down in one of the biggest games of the season.
Tonight, however the B’s need to hear you as they are getting dressed at 6:00 p.m. Our new guys like Aaron Ward, Dennis Wideman, Andrew Ference
and Brandon Bochenski need to hear what the Garden sounds like in a playoff game -- because, in essence, that is what tonight’s contest actually represents.
So, as you prepare your Black & Gold gear for your trek into the Garden (and if you have a jersey -- wear it), make sure you pack your voice.
The Habs fans that I have heard from in my e-mail are certainly going to have theirs checked through customs.
Let’s Go Bruins!
