Despite having not played since November 26, when he suffered an injury during a game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Andrew Alberts has remained busy with the Boston Bruins off the ice.

“The Andrew Alberts Report” has been appearing on the B’s website since the beginning of the season, and recently, he delved into television with NESN’s “The Buzz.”

Today, he’ll conquer another medium when he gets his turn in this week’s installment of Rinkside Chats on

"The Andrew Alberts Report” has appeared on the B’s website for a few months now, and it has tackled many topics, from IIHF World Championships to weddings in Rome, but it's Alberts’s movie reviews get the most attention.

“I hear back from people about movies, so it’s fun to talk about that,” said Alberts.  “It’s something I enjoy, and it’s something they enjoy, too.”

Taking over for Hazel Mae to count down the top 10 on “The Buzz” was not Alberts'television debut, yet the one-take-wonder enjoyed the experience – and his chance to take a jab at fellow Bruins defenseman and former Buzz host Bobby Allen.

“I had a good time, and I think it turned out well,” said Alberts.  “I got to see it recently, and I’ve been making fun of Bobby, but he doesn’t know why.

“I told him to check it out, so we’ll see what he says.”

No word from Mr. Allen on that subject and, as you might expect, the fellow former BC Eagle isn't AA's only target.

“I need to get some ammo on [Dennis Wideman] and get back at him for throwing me under the bus in his chat a couple of weeks ago,” Alberts said.  “I’ll think of some things and hopefully put them to good use in the chat.”

Whether he’s on or off the ice, Alberts enjoys giving fans a peak at what it’s like to be an NHL player.

“It's good any time you can give a little bit more back to people," he said.  "Fans don’t really get know what’s going on inside the locker room or in the lives of players, and I think they find it interesting.

"I enjoy doing it.  I think other people are starting to enjoy it and know more about us.”

So if you’re curious, you’ve got your chance to find out more about the Bruins and d-man Alberts when he gets his turn at hosting a chat Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
