ST. LOUIS - For the first time since the 2014-15 season, the St. Louis Blues have recorded hat tricks in back-to-back games.
Jaden Schwartz recorded his fourth career hat trick on Tuesday against the Edmonton Oilers, and Ivan Barbashev followed that up with one of his own, netting his first career hat trick in Thursday's 5-2 win against the Detroit Red Wings.

Over the last 48 hours, Blues fans have tossed a lot of hats onto the ice, which begs the question: what happens to all them?
As first told in a story for stlouisblues.com in December 2016, the hats are collected and first offered to the player as a keepsake to remember the moment. If the player chooses not to keep the hats, they are then donated to the St. Patrick's Center, where they are distributed to the homeless.
The St. Patrick's Center is one of Missouri's largest providers of housing, employment and health opportunities for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, assisting more than 5,700 people each year.
