ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues have assigned prospect Alexei Toropchenko to HC Kunlun Red Star of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Toropchenko will play for Kunlan but will be available to return to training camp and play hockey in North America for the 2020-21 season.
Kunlan is coached by former NHLer Alexei Kovalev.
Toropchenko, a 21-year-old native of Moscow, was drafted by the Blues in the fourth round (No. 113 overall) at the 2017 NHL Draft. In 2019-20, he played 59 games with the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage, recording five goals and four assists.
Last week, the
Blues assigned Klim Kostin to Avangard Omsk
. Like Toropchenko, Kostin will be able to return for training camp and will be eligible to play in the NHL in the 2020-21 season.
