Toivonen Sent Down, Beckford-Tseu & Stastny Up

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned goaltender Hannu Toivonen to the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. In addition, the team has recalled goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu and forward Yan Stastny from the Rivermen.


Toivonen, 23, has played in 16 games with the Blues this season. He has also played in three games with Peoria this season, registering a 3-0-0 record, a 1.95 goals against average along with a .921 save percentage.

Beckford-Tseu, 23, has played in 28 games with the Rivermen this season, posting a 15-9-2 record along with a .900 save percentage and a 2.61 goals against average.

Stastny, 25, has played in 34 games for the Rivermen this season, collecting 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) along with 48 penalty minutes.

The Quebec City, Quebec native is the son of former Blue Peter Stastny. Yan and Peter would be the second father and son combination to play for the Blues. Bob and Brent Johnson were the first.
