Tarasenko Tops List of Fantasy Sleepers

by Chris Pinkert / St. Louis Blues

If you're preparing for your Fantasy Hockey draft in a few weeks, listen up. Fantasy Insider Pete Jensen ranks Blues prospect Vladimir Tarasenko as the top sleeper pick available in your fantasy draft.

According to Jensen: "...the 2012-13 season will be (Tarasenko's) first in North America after playing four seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League. He has point production savvy beyond his years (47 points in 54 KHL games last season), making him an immediate threat to score 20-plus goals as a rookie. What's more, the opportunity to develop in Ken Hitchcock's system makes his situation even more promising. He's a projected third-liner heading into his first NHL season, but will be further utilized if injuries affect the Blues' talented group of forwards again."

Jensen projects Tarasenko to score 24 goals and 23 assists (47 points) this season.

According to the list, Tarasenko beat out Colorado's Ryan O'Reilly and Montreal's David Desharnais for the top spot.
