Steen Extends Point Streak to 3 Games

ST. LOUIS – The Blues earned three of a possible four points in their two-game homestand last week at Scottrade Center. The Blues improved their record against the Eastern Conference to a league best 7-1-1 (.833) record with a shootout loss Saturday to Carolina.


Jaroslav Halak was solid for the Blues, registering a 1-0-1 record with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .965 save percentage.

Other highlights from the past week include…
  • The Blues were perfect on both the power play (3-3) and the penalty kill (8-8) on Thursday, Dec. 9 against Columbus…It was the first time they had scored three or more power play goals and killed eight or more penalties in a game since Dec. 20, 2005 at Phoenix
  • David Backes led the Blues in points with a goal and two assists, including six hits and six shots on goal…He registered his 100th assist as a Blue on Thursday, Dec. 9 against Columbus
  • Alex Steen extended his point streak to three games with a goal Thursday, Dec. 9 against Columbus and an assist Saturday, Dec. 11 against Carolina. He also fired a club most 10 shots on goal
  • Erik Johnson recorded his first multi-point game (two assists) of the season on Thursday, Dec. 9 against Columbus
  • Patrik Berglund tallied his 50th assist and his 90th point as a Blue on Saturday, Dec. 11 against Carolina
