St. Louis-based Scottrade, a leading online branch-supported investment company and the long-term naming rights partner of the St. Louis Blues' home arena, Scottrade Center, recently donated $10,000 to The Fourteen Fund, charitable trust of the St. Louis Blues.
The donation comes from Scottrade's "Investing in St. Louis" program. In March, Scottrade announced that it would donate $7 for every brokerage account opened online by a St. Louis metropolitan resident or in person at one of Scottrade's six St. Louis-area offices between Friday, Mar. 9, and the end of the Blues' regular season on Apr. 7. Scottrade later extended the program through Apr. 17. Scottrade is known for its $7 online stock trades and 298 branch offices, including locations in South St. Louis County, Des Peres, Clayton, Chesterfield, O'Fallon, Mo., and Fairview Heights, Ill.
Scottrade President and CEO Rodger Riney and Chief Marketing Officer Chris Moloney presented the donation to St. Louis Blues CEO and Fourteen Fund board member Peter McLoughlin and Bruce Affleck, Executive Director of Broadcasting and Blues Alumni and longtime board member of The Fourteen Fund, in a presentation at Scottrade's Des Peres headquarters.
