St. Louis Blues prospects Lars Eller and Simon Hjalmarsson have captured the Swedish Junior-20 SuperElit Championship playing for Frolunda.
Eller, 18, tallied a pair of goals in the championship game. He played in nine games for Frolunda J20, tallying eight points (four goals, four assists) along with 10 penalty minutes. The first round, 13th overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft also played for Frolunda of the Elitserien League and Boras HC of the Allsvenskan League this season. The 6-1, 198-pound native of Rodovre, Denmark also represented Team Denmark at the 2007 World Junior Championships, tallying six points (three goals, three assists).
Hjalmarsson, 19, skated in 37 games for Frolunda J20, ranking second on the team with 46 points (16 goals, 30 assists). The second round, 39th pick overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, also appeared in 10 games for Boras HC of the Allsvenskan League, recording six points (two goals, four assists). The 5-11, 161-pound forward also represented Team Sweden at the Under-19 and Under-20 Junior Championships.
