Projected Lineup: Jan. 5 vs. Carolina

by Chris Pinkert / St. Louis Blues

ST. LOUIS - Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock said he thought his team played a great game Monday at the 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic.

That effort, which was played in front of more than 46,000 fans at Busch Stadium, resulted in a convincing 4-1 victory over the Central Division rival Chicago Blackhawks, who were held off the scoreboard after scoring just 1:02 into the game.

So since everything went well, we wouldn't expect much to change for tonight's lineup, except for two things - Carl Gunnarsson is dealing with a lower-body injury and is day-to-day, so Brad Hunt will move back in. Also, several players are dealing with beaing sick, and it's a bug Hitchcock said has been going around the team.

If everyone is able to play through the symptoms, we'd expect the lineup for tonight's game against the Hurricanes to look something like this:

Forwards

Alexander Steen - Paul Stastny - David Perron
Jaden Schwartz - Jori Lehtera - Vladimir Tarasenko
Robby Fabbri - Patrik Berglund - Dmitrij Jaskin
Scottie Upshall - Kyle Brodziak - Ryan Reaves

Defense

Joel Edmundson - Alex Pietrangelo
Brad Hunt - Kevin Shattenkirk
Jay Bouwmeester - Colton Parayko

Goalie

Jake Allen
