COYOTES The Arizona Coyotes are coming off a series split with the Anaheim Ducks but won the most recent meeting 3-2 on Thursday night at Gila River Arena.
Goalie Darcy Kuemper made 14 saves in the win for the Coyotes, who had lost four of their previous five games.
Arizona is 3-4-1 to begin the season.
"There's pressure on all the teams right now," Coyotes Head Coach Rick Tocchet said. "It's a short (56-game) season, so if you lose a couple of games, the heat's right on you. So it was nice to get the win."
Key departures for the Coyotes in the offseason include Taylor Hall, Michael Grabner, Brad Richardson and Vinnie Hinostroza. The front office picked up a key addition though by naming Bill Armstrong as the club's new general manager. Armstrong previously served as the Blues' Assistant GM and Director of Amateur Scouting.
HEAD-TO-HEAD Jordan Binnington recorded his most recent shutout in the last meeting between the Blues and Coyotes on Feb. 20, 2020. Binnington is 2-1-1 with a 0.99 goals-against average and a .949 save-percentage (two shutouts) against Arizona.
Jaden Schwartz has recorded 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 22 games against Arizona.
Dating back to 2013, the Blues have points in 11 of 13 games against the Coyotes at Enterprise Center (9-2-2).
